Classic Laos Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Luang Prabang, Laos
Today you will arrive in Luang Prabang, upon which you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free.
This evening, you may explore the area on foot, sample some of Laos’ delicious traditional dishes, and meander through row after row of crafts at the town’s expansive night market.
Day 2: Luang Prabang (B, L)
Today you will visit the Royal Palace Museum followed by the morning market and Ban Phanom weaving village. Later, continue on a boat trip on the Mekong River to the holy caves of Pak Ou, visit a small village, and enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Luang Prabang. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this charming town. You may rent bikes, take a trip to the nearby waterfalls, indulge in a Laotian massage, or simply enjoy a beverage by the river and enjoy the beautiful, lush green scenery.
Day 3: Luang Prabang (B)
Today you will have a tour of Vat Xieng Thong, “The Golden City Monastery”, and the fine temples of Vat May, Vat Vixoun and Vat That Luang. Later you will head to Phousi Holy Hill to enjoy the excellent views of the town and a great sunset.
Option: Hands on mahut training. Get a hands on experience with elephants! Learn mahut commands, ride bare back on the elephant and even get in the river to help them bathe!
Day 4: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (B, D)
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Vientiane. Your Laotian guide will meet you at the airport/Friendship bridge and transfer you to the hotel. If a morning flight is available, this afternoon you will have a full city tour including the important museums and temples of Hoprakeo, Sisaket, That Luang Stupa and Pratuxay. After a break for lunch, visit Buddha Park and Cultural Park and watch the sun set over the Mekong River. This evening, enjoy a dinner cultural show, with dance, music, costume and beautiful performances.
Day 5: Vientiane – Plain of Jars (B, L, D)
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the Xieng Hoang Province. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Once you have had a chance to get settled, you will be taken to the impressive and mysterious Plain of Jars. After some time to explore and discover this magnificent site, return to your hotel for an evening at your leisure.
Day 6: Plain of Jars – Vientiane (B)
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Vientiane. Enjoy the rest of the day in Vientiane at your leisure.
Day 7: Return to the USA (B)
Today, after checking out of your hotel you will transfer to the Vientiane airport for your flight back to the USA with a lifetime of memories.

Focus on visiting Luang Prabang for 2-3 nights.
MORE TIME:
Combine with nearby Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia or anywhere in the region!
