Grand Malaysia Itinerary
Day 1: Departure
Today you will depart. The adventure begins.
Day 2: In Flight
You lose this day due to the international dateline; you will regain it upon your return.
Day 3: Kuala Lumpur
Today you will arrive into Kuala Lumpur. Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, meet and greet then transfer to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax and rest from your journey.
Day 4: Kuala Lumpur
You will have breakfast in the hotel. You will then be picked up by your guide and driver for a morning sights tour.
Evening Option: 1830hrs: Pick up from hotel lobby for Cultural Night tour, you will visit to the largest and oldest Hindu temple in the city, The Sri Mahamariamman Temple. The smell of burning jasmine, the incessant chanting of Hindu priests and mystical aura wills all combines to give you an ever-lasting impression of this fascinating religion. A short walk from here is The Open-air Bazaar of Chinatown. Take a stroll through this bustling night-market, and try your hand at bargaining for merchandise spread across the middle of the street. From here, guide will drive you to a delightful Malay Restaurant where you will be treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner featuring a variety of local delicacies. While enjoying the food you will be entertained to an array of Malaysian cultural dances.
Day 4: Kuala Lumpur - Malacca
Pick up from hotel lobby for Full day Malacca Tour, where the history of Malaysia began. The drive from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca will take approximately 2.5 hours. En route pass by oil palm plantations, rubber estate and Malay village. Malacca’s famous attractions such as A ‘famosa, Dutch Square, Cheng Hong Teng Temple and Jonker Street provide insight into the glorious past of the Malacca Sultanate, the Portuguese, Dutch and British periods. Return to Kuala Lumpur.
Day 5: Kuala Lumpur - Taman Negara National Park (B, L, D)
Today you will be taken to Taman Negara National Park. Here you will have the chance to go for a guided hike.
Day 6: Taman Nagara National Park (B, L, D)
Enjoy the Taman Negara National Park. There are a number of activities that we can arrange. Take a small boat through the rainforest, go trekking, walk on a canopy walk, visit caves and more!
Day 7: Taman Negara National Park - Cameron Highlands (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Check out from the hotel. Proceed overland transfer to Cameron Highlands, located 1542 meters above sea level, famous for its world renowned tea; from Tapah town, we begin the ascend up, en route we will visit a Malaysian aborigines, known as the ‘Orang Asli’ (the original people / local native) and a photo stop at Lata Iskandar Waterfall. Check in at THE LAKEHOUSE CAMERON HIGHLANDS. Overnight
Day 8: Cameron Highlands (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Check out from your accommodation, then descend to Tapah and continue overland to Penang, en route at the royal town of Kuala Kangsar, in the State of Perak. Visit the old palace, now converted into a museum with its beautiful and intricate carvings and stop by the Ubudiah Mosque with its obligatory onion-shaped dome. Cross Penang Bridge, the longest in Asia and the 5th longest in the world, to the fabled island of Penang settled by Sir Francis Light in 1771.
Day 9: Cameron Highlands - Penang (B)
Breakfast at hotel. You will be picked up at resort lobby for half day Penang City tour. Visit the capital of Penang State named by the King George III of England – Gerge Town and go on a memorable tour of Penang, as we drive through the city and discover its beautiful temples and historical monuments. Tour highlights – Fort Cornwallis / Penang
Museum / Little India / China Town / Khoo Kongsi Clan House / Reclining Buddha.
Continue for half day Hill & Temple tour. Visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist Temple in Malaysia. Tour highlights – Kek Lok Si Temple / Penang Hill. After the tour, return back to resort. Free at own activities.
Day 10: Penang (B)
Today you will have a free day in Penang to explore on your own.
Day 11: Penang - Kota Kinablu
Today you will fly to Kota Kinabalu. Meet at Kota Kinabalu airport and transfer to your hotel. You will have a short tour of the city upon your arrival.
Day 12 : Kota Kinablu (B)
Today you will go to the Shangri La Tanjung Aru Resort.
Day 13: Kota Kinablu(B, L)
Depart early morning for a 3 hr drive to Poring Hot Spring. Explore the many jungle trails and observe wildlife on the canopy walkway 100 feet above the forest floor. Proceed to the World Heritage site of Kinabalu National Park after lunch. Explore the mountain gardens, home to many species of orchids and pitcher plants with your guide before returning to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon. Overnight Shangri La Tanjung Aru.
Day 14: Kota Kinablu(B)
Free day in Kota Kinabalu. Overnight Shangri La Tanjung Aru Hotel.
Day 15: Kota Kinablu – Sandakan (B, L, D)
Pick up to airport for flight to Sandakan and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary where captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. You will be able to observe them at their feeding stations in the rainforest and see a video presentation on the Orangutan’s rehabilitation program. Then transfer back to the jetty in Sandakan for a boat excursion brings you to the pristine mangrove forests along the lower Kinabatangan River delta in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and reptiles. Lunch is provided in the Abai Jungle Restaurant. Explore the surrounding area on the nature boardwalk before cruising up the Kinabatangan River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife. After dinner, depart for a night cruise and witness the glittering of Fireflies on the mangrove trees. Overnight at the Abai Jungle Lodge.
Day 16: Sandakan (B, L, D)
Depart on another boat trip for bird watching and viewing wildlife at the Pitas Lake nearby and then return to the lodge for breakfast. Visit the nearby Abai village and observed the tree planting project (optional). Lunch will be served together with one of the families. Depart by boat to Sukau and after check-in go on a river cruise up Kinabatangan River to Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.
Day 17: Sandakan (B, L, D)
Early morning, take a second boat trip for bird watching and viewing wildlife at the Ox Bow Lake nearby. Short trekking to the lush riverine forest along the lake and then return to the lodge for breakfast. Proceed overland to Gomantong Caves, the largest birds nests cave in Sabah and famous for their swift lets and their edible nests. In the afternoon, you will venture on another river cruise along the Kinabatangan River. Return to the lodge at dusk. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside lodge.

Day 18: Sandakan (B)
You will have the day to explore the area. Overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside lodge.
Day 19: Sandakan - Tawau (B, L)
After breakfast, 0630hrs return to Sandakan by boat (2-3hrs). Upon arrival at the jetty, you will be transferred to Sabah Hotel for lunch. Proceed for a brief city orientation. Transfer to the airport in the afternoon for flight out. Overnight in a hotel in Tawau.
3-day,2-night Sipidan Water Village Diving Experience:
Day 20: Sipidan (B)
Today you will be transferred to Sipidan Water Village. Diving in Sipidan (at the Sipidan Water Village).
Day 21: Sipidan (B)
Go snorkeling and just enjoy the beautiful area.
Day 22: Sipidan - Kota Kinabalu (B)
Today you will fly to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Have some free time to enjoy the city.
Day 23: Kota Kinabalu - Singapore (B)
This morning you will fly to Singapore. Upon arrival you can check out some of the museums, or take the night tour.
Day 24: Singapore – Home (B)
This morning you have the option to taking a morning sights tour, or just have some free time. This late afternoon you will fly home with a lifetime of wonderful memories.
